Panorama Cafe Jams

New York, September 10, 2010 - You can find food for the body and food for the soul at Panorama of My Silence-Heart Cafe in Jamaica, Queens.

This neighborhood-based coffeehouse offers every possible type of coffee and tea and also serves up a menu of tasty vegetarian soups, sandwiches and baked goods. The free WIFI, colorful decor and comfortable couches also make it a popular gathering spot that features regular artistic and musical events.

Some of the happenings include Edible Jams and Poetry Jams. What is an Edible Jam? Cute phrasing for an event where musicians jam at an open mike and sample a dessert tasting menu of goodies made from jam. Poetry Jams are the same idea, just substituting poetry for the music.

Panorama is having an Edible Jam Tuesday September 14th at 7:30 pm. Musicians are warmly invited to the open mike and are asked to share up to 2 songs.

He also founded and runs the Literary Journal, The Pedestal. Scott Owens of Wild Goose Poetry Review calls his poetry, ..."a tour de force of poetic imagination and archetypal imagery clothed in personal symbolism."

The walls of the cafe also exhibit local artists. One recent showing featured art in mixed media by Radha Honig, a member of the New York area Sri Chinmoy Centre and musician with the Centre's Bhajans Music Group.

Radha was invited to illustrate books written by Sri Chinmoy on several occasions and some of her show featured these whimsical drawings.
