Mother's Day

Mother's Day May 2010. Do you hope to observe Mother's Day with the time-honored tradition of taking Mom out to eat at a restaurant on Mother's Day this Sunday May 9th?

If yes, there are some wonderful special Mother's Day menus to be found at various vegetarian restaurants and cafes affiliated with the Sri Chinmoy Centre.

If Queens New York is on your map, you can enjoy a Mother's Day Special Meal at Annam Brahma. Enjoy Eggplant Spanakopita or Eggplant Moussaka or Savory Kabob with Soy-Meats among other items in this special meal with a Greek theme. Or dine in gourmet style at The Oneness-Fountain-Heart on a prix fix menu that includes a Roasted Vegetarian "Pheasant" with Rosemary Marinade, Grilled Polenta and Broccoli Rabe among other items.  The Panorama of My Silence-Heart Cafe on Parsons Blvd in Jamaica, Queens also features a Sunday brunch item on Mother's Day of Huevos Rancheros or a Five-Cheese Scrambled Eggs, both come with salad.

Across the Coast, the Silence-Heart-Nest Vegetarian Restaurant in Seattle will include the following specials for Mother's Day: Omelet Special: Roasted butternut squash, caramelized onions, gorgonzola cheese (with fresh sage). Tofu (vegan) Special: Roasted butternut squash, caramelized onions, soy cheese (with fresh sage).Waffle Special: Vanilla waffle with peach compote, hazelnut cream and raspberry sauce.

In Chicago, the ever-popular Victory's Banner will serve Mother's Day specials of Vegan French Toast-made with their usual fluffy french toast bread- with anise, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, served with vegan "butter" and real maple syrup; Strawberry-Lime French Toast- their french toast stuffed with a raspberry and lime mascarpone-cream cheese, served with fresh raspberries and real maple syrup; and a Fontina Omelette with sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms

Mother's Day is great
At least once a year
Children allow their minds
To think of their mother's heart
Allow their hearts to house
And treasure their mother...
