Enzymes & Oils
Enzymes are crucial for the metabolism and igniting hundreds of biochemical processes that digest food, activate the brain, repair tissues and cells, provide energy at the molecular level, and detoxify the body. Enzymes are naturally available in raw foods: avocados, bananas, mangos, papayas, pineapple. Sprouted grains, legumes and seeds are especially rich in enzymes. Enzymes are most effective when combined with co-enzymes found in all major vitamins. Supplemental enzymes are available and often needed if not enough raw foods are consumed.
Essential Fatty Acids - Omega Oils
Fatty acids are needed for good health, and those the body does not manufacture are called essential fatty acids. EFAs reduce blood pressure, cholesterol and blood clots, nourish the skin and hair and are crucial for brain activity. Omega-3 and Omega-6 are the most basic of the EFAs and dietary essentials. The O-3s are found primarily in fish, but also in canola, flaxseed and walnut oils. The O-6s are found in raw nuts, seeds, beugmes, and borage, grape seed, primrose, sesame and soybean oils. Supplemental oils contain a balanced mixture of both and are good to take daily.
