Free meditation classes in Chicago

..and other spiritual activities of the Chicago Sri Chinmoy Centre

Since Sri Chinmoy’s passing, his students around the world continue to express his philosophy in numerous ways. Primarily, we offer free meditation classes and weekend intensives for the public where we guide people through the art of breathing, concentration, mental focus, japa, meditation and contemplation. Our instructors show how meditation can be integrated into everyday life and how it can be used to overcome problems and stress.

Class schedule: Ongoing. Each series consists of 4 classes. Each evening builds on the previous session so your participation in all 4 classes is encouraged.

Victory's Banner – Chicago's #1 Breakfast House

victorys-banner.png

The Chicago Sri Chinmoy Centre's activities focus around our restaurant, Victory's Banner.  The restaurant reflects the influence Sri Chinmoy has had on our lives, and is inspired by him. But we still have time for an active lifestyle and offer meditation workshops, classes and races.

Victory’s Banner has grown to be one of Chicago’s most popular breakfast/lunch spots. The Chicago Reader called Victory’s Banner “one of the best breakfast houses in Chicago, period!”  Several times it has been rated the number 1 breakfast spot by The Chicago Reader Restaurant Rater Poll. WTTW Channel 11's program Check Please featured us and praised our "Zen-like environment." WBBM's Sherman Kaplan offered us a rare K Rating of 20 out of 20 and Centerstage Chicago states, "Victory’s Banner is an unrivaled spot for a.m. eats." We are both honored and grateful for these accolades.

Featuring egg dishes and omelets made with free-range eggs, award-winning French Toasts, and great coffee, Victory’s Banner is a terrific culinary experience.

Located at 2100W. Roscoe in Chicago - Open every day 8am-3pm except closed Tuesday. 773-665-0227; www.victorysbanner.com

Running for Peace

The Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run is a global relay that seeks to promote international friendship and understanding. As a symbol of harmony, runners carry a flaming torch, passing it from hand to hand, traveling through over 100 nations around the globe.

The Peace Run does not seek to raise money or highlight any political cause, but simply strives to create good will among peoples of all nations. The Run arrives in Chicago at least once every two years, and our members work very hard to give a nice experience both to the team of runners and the people they visit.
